Master page gallery
In SharePoint 2013 master page gallery is the by default location where all the branding assets like images, css etc. are resides. It is nothing but document library which has the all content resides.

How to access master page gallery in SharePoint sites.
• Let’s go to sites.
• Click on top navigation a gear icon which has site settings menus click Site Setting.
• Under the Web Designer Galleries click on Master Pages and Pages Layouts.
Composed Look
Composed looks approach in SharePoint 2013 which helps to customize sites, add background images, other Branding themes, make site more flexible. It has color palette, fonts and background images. You can customize your own site looks which available as Out of box features.

Master pages includes generally html ; SharePoint content like navigation etc. and content placeholders which plays vital role to display the views as added by web parts zones etc.
Below listed are the master page available in SharePoint 2013.
Seattle. Master:
This is the default master page used for many of the site templates used by SharePoint 2013. It has both top navigation and quick launch navigation (at the left).
Oslo. Master:
In this master page have the quick launch navigation horizontally at the top. See top navigation is hidden.
