2013 bring together a set of new themes which can design the look and feel of
your site quickly.
Composed look
Themes introduces one of the simplest approaches to branding
sites. We are familiar with SP 2007 where themes were stored on the file system
of the SharePoint server in which contains XML, CSS and images which applied
for master pages whereas In SharePoint 2010 Microsoft used .THMX files appliance
which helps users to choose fonts and twelve colors respectively. Now In
SharePoint 2013 introduced new approach to theme where user has more
flexibility for customization to switch look and feel of your site quickly.
This type of new approach of themes called as Composed looks. Composed
looks is set of background images, a color palette, fonts etc. Simply using composed
looks you can brand your collaboration sites more pretty.
Master pages:
In SharePoint 2013 new master pages has been introduced.
Master Page enable designer and developers to create a consistent look and feel
for all the pages in a SharePoint website.Seattle.master is the default master
page in SharePoint 2013 which has both the Quick launch and Top navigation bar
respectively.Oslo.master is another master page in SharePoint which display
only top navigation bar. Master page consist of navigation, search, html
content, Content placeholders etc. Content Placeholder is used to render the various
content into website. Content Place Holder is the building blocks of various
fields like web part zones, list templates content etc.
Content Page:

pages describe body of the pages or layout of pages which used in building SharePoint
sites. In SharePoint 2013, Content pages defines mainly three types of pages
1. Publishing pages
2. Web part Pages
3. Wiki pages
Web Part
Pages:
Web part is self-designed
block used to display content in SharePoint site. Web part page contains Web
part zones where various media like data, images has been added and display
content by adding web part vertically and horizontally. It helps to display
some information by adding web part into web part pages.
